Ardbert isn't my favorite character in FFXIV, so it's a little weird that he's the one I made a site for first. The reason for this is twofold: one, his storyline is (mercifully) complete, a rarity in an ongoing MMO. Second, this site was the absolute perfect fit for the Ghost of You shrine challenge, to an almost comical degree. (I had the site name planned long before the shrine challenge, but it's very funny to me that it's this on the nose.)

In any case, FFXIV has many wonderful characters, but Ardbert stands out as one of the best. As one of the three pillars of the best expansion, Shadowbringers, he gets the luxury of extremely good writing and character development. Couple that with the convenience of not having to worry about future developments down the line and he makes for a perfect subject to write about.

I first started work on this site in the summer of 2022, at which point I wrote about half the content. I then proceeded to stall until the winter of 2025-26, at which point I wrote the rest of the pages thanks to motivation from the Ghost of You shrine challenge. Never let it be said that a deadline isn't an impetus to get a site done!

This site opened on 30 January 2026. This is the first layout, which features resources by Anastezia Luneva, Lisa Glanz, and Subtle Patterns.
